The Saxsmith has over 15 years teaching experience. Working with all age groups and abilities either individually or small and large groups.
The Saxsmith currently teachers for both Canterbury Christchurch University Campuses specialising in commercial styles and the music business. He also works for kent grammar and high schools.
Beta Sax adaption for primary age groups.
Noticing the falling number of students taking up and continuing the sax/clarinet at High schools the Saxsmith has moved into primary schools.
Offering affordable group lessons and adapted standard size Alto saxes to learn on.This will hopefully encourage students to either just enjoy the sax or become serious learners reaching a higher standard before High School age.
Other Qualifications and experience
The Saxsmith was also the Tutor trainer for the now defunked Yamaha group courses.
The Saxsmith has current CRB check and has The Advanced Certificate in Post Compulsory Education.
If you require workshops or demo`s I have many different ideas and packages or can link to any schemes or ideas that you are planning.
The Saxsmith also works weekday evenings at the "Your Music School" in Canterbury. He is also the founding coordinator of The YMS Sax Society started to encourage ensemble playing at all levels, thus giving more purpose to learning. See the Sax Society Section below..
